OOC PREFERENCES:
CONTACT METHOD: plurk (batmanschmatman), or PM Eugene's journal.
THREAD-JACKING: As long as it's within reason, I don't mind.
FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: I'd prefer no canon puncture/fourth walling about Gene specifically as an individual, but if your character is a really huge history buff, we can definitely discuss. Spoiling future events in Earth history is fine, as is providing any info abut your world's version of World War II. It's totally reasonable to recognize the patch on his Army jacket as being from WWII/the 101st Airborne because it's pretty iconic and used everywhere.
BACKTAGGING: Go for it!
AVOIDED TOPICS: Not super into descriptions of vampires drinking people's blood or plots involving sexual assault.
PREFERRED GENDER PRONOUN: She/Her

IC CHARACTERISTICS:
CURRENT CANON POINT: After finding Renée's body in the bombed out hospital during the siege of Bastogne.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Gene stands at about 5'10" and has a slim, athletic build. He's got jet black hair, dark blue eyes, and an extremely pale complexion. Although he does carry his medic bag on him at all times and wears his jump boots on the Barge, when out and about, he generally isn't wearing a full Army uniform, opting instead for a pretty simple wardrobe - slacks or jeans with a buttoned down shirt. It's also a pretty limited wardrobe - he's probably got like three shirts total and two good pairs of pants, so particularly observant types will notice he's wearing the same stuff over and over again. In the infirmary, he's usually wearing his Army jacket with his medic armband on. This jacket has three additional patches on it: a 101st Airborne Division patch on the left shoulder, and chevrons displaying his rank on each arm. The medic band is wrapped over the rank chevrons on his left arm. He also re-wears useful items from his kit in cold weather - his winter jacket is Army issued, for example, and he'll keep his Army jacket on in brisk weather, too. As a pack-a-day smoker if he can get his hands on cigarettes, he definitely reeks of cigarette smoke.
DEMEANOR: Gene is quiet and often content to just hang on the periphery, so he likely eats alone, reads alone, works alone, and so on and so forth. However, when directly approached, he's warm and polite, but not especially personal until you really get to know him. He's also very likely to (not entirely intentionally) keep the focus of conversation on the other person, not himself. He's extremely calm under pressure and has a great bedside manner. He also speaks with a Cajun accent, and almost never calls people by their nicknames or first names unless they don't have a last name. If your character has a rank or title, he'll call them that with and without their last name. Otherwise, it's by last name. Women who don't have a rank or title are "Miss Lastname."
ABILITIES: Gene is a baseline human, but has been trained as a paratrooper by the US Army, so he's extremely physically fit and has had extensive training with weapons and in hand to hand combat. He also speaks French fluently (although as it's Cajun French, certain words and grammar will sound different to a native French speaker from France) and can jump out of a plane without killing himself or breaking his legs. As a medic, he is well versed in first aid and can expertly administer medicine, disinfectant, blood transfusions, and painkillers, splint broken bones, sew stitches, apply tourniquets, and other life saving first aid, including very basic emergency surgery like appendectomies if necessary. Although he does not have a medical degree, the extensive classes and field experience have made him an extremely skilled medic.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Gene's extremely physically fit, but also is a chain smoker and has a decent sized scar on his calf courtesy of some barbed wire in Holland.
CABIN INFORMATION: Gene's cabin door is a normal wooden door with a knob and a lock. It's painted white and is otherwise totally uninteresting. The interior is similarly pretty humble - a narrow bedroom with a small closet and an equally small bathroom (toilet, sink, shower) attached. There's a braided rug on the floor and fairly little else by way of decoration. Little furniture too beyond the narrow double bed, bedside table, and fairly bare bookshelf, which holds a couple beat up novels and various knicknacks belonging to him or his brothers (a deck of cards, a baseball and mitt, that kind of thing).
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Uhhh Nazism?

IC PERMISSIONS:
MENTAL: Gene's a normal human with no psychic defenses whatsoever, so it'd be pretty easy for a telepath to pick up on his thoughts. His mind's probably a lot noisier than he puts on.
MIMICRY: Sure, although if it's to cause harm I'd like to chat first.
VIOLENCE: Yes, but Gene has been trained to defend himself and fight dirty if he has to, so he will fight back. Anything particularly crippling/life threatening should probably be hashed out first.
MAGIC: Sure!
DEBATE: Sure!
OTHER / NOTES: Anything with super long term consequences I'd like to discuss first, but minor stuff is all pretty much okay with me!
